Bio: I am an Ihanktonwan Dakota winyan, enrolled Fort Peck Assiniboine and Sioux of Montana. Mom of 2 Swirlies and 2 older bonus kids in Oklahoma. I am a wife of 21 years to my "legendary" fancy dance husband - Joe Bointy. Love to run, one of the founders of the local "Smokin Mocs" running club. I am a fancy shawl dancer FOR LIFE. I am interested in improving the health of my family and my Native communities, one tiospaye (extended family) at a time. I want to share my family's search for good health (Wozani Was'te) as we eliminate as much processed food as possible, help start a marathon club at my girls' school, figure out how to garden, and learn how to maintain our physical fitness through osteo-arthritis, other aging-related maladies, and the hectic schedule of raising an 11-year old and a 9-year old.

Hi Shelley, I am also trying to stay active after osteo-arthritis. I had both hips replaced in 2012 and a heart valve replaced in 2017.

Wow! I have a tentative plan to get my left hip replaced this December. Trying to hold out as long as possible.
